Gotchas
- 1M requests/month
Free plan allows up to 1 million inbound HTTP requests per month across all deployments; resets each billing cycle.
- 20 GB egress/month
Monthly outbound bandwidth is capped at 20 GB across all deployments; inbound data does not count against this.
- 15h CPU time/month
Total CPU execution time across all deployments is limited to 15 hours per month on the new runtime (does not apply to Deno Deploy Classic).
- 350 GB-h memory time/month
Total memory-time budget is 350 GB-hours per month; this applies to the new runtime only.
- 450k KV read units/month
Deno KV read operations (get, list) are limited to 450,000 units (4 KiB each) per month.
- 300k KV write units/month
Deno KV write operations (set, delete) are limited to 300,000 units (1 KiB each) per month.
- 60 deployments/hour
The free plan allows at most 60 new deployments per hour, shared across the organization.
- 1 KV DB region
Free plan is locked to a single database region with no ability to select the write region, limiting global-latency use cases.
- No wildcard subdomains
Wildcard subdomain routing is not available on the free plan; Pro and above support it.
- 1-day log retention
Logs are retained for only 1 day on the free plan; Pro gets 1 week and Builder gets 2 weeks.
- No email support or SLA
Free plan is limited to community (Discord) support only; no email support, support SLA, or reliability SLA is provided.
- No authenticated invocations
The ability to require authentication credentials for all incoming requests to a deployment is an Enterprise-only feature.
- No SOC2 / DPA compliance
SOC2 Type 1 certification and Data Processing Agreements are Enterprise-only, making the free tier unsuitable for regulated workloads.
- Max 20 active apps
Only 20 deployments can be active at any given time within a free organization.
- 5 team members
Free organizations are limited to 5 authenticated team members who can manage resources.
- Personal use framing
Deno explicitly positions the free plan as 'for personal use and smaller projects', signaling it is not intended for production commercial workloads.
