- 100,000 runs/day
The free plan allows up to 100,000 val executions per day; this quota resets every 24 hours.
- No private vals
Free tier vals must be public — zero private or unlisted vals are permitted; private vals require a paid plan.
- No custom domains
Custom domain mapping is not available on the free plan; vals are served under the val.town subdomain only.
- 15-minute minimum cron interval
Scheduled vals can run no more frequently than every 15 minutes; 1-minute intervals require Pro.
- 1-minute wall-clock time per run
Each val execution is hard-limited to 1 minute of wall-clock time, making long-running tasks impossible on the free tier.
- 3-day log retention
Execution logs are kept for only 3 days on the free plan; Pro extends this to 10 days.
- Email only to self
The free plan restricts email sending to the account owner's own address; emailing arbitrary recipients requires Pro.
- No Townie (AI) credit
The built-in AI coding assistant (Townie) credit is not included on the free plan; Pro includes $10/month.
