Gotchas
- 1 hostname only
The free tier allows exactly one hostname; additional hostnames require a paid Enhanced ($2.99/mo, 3 hostnames) or higher plan.
- 30-day confirmation required
Free hostnames must be manually confirmed every 30 days (via an emailed link sent 7 days before and on expiry, or by logging in within 7 days of expiry) or they are deleted from DNS and placed into redemption.
- No SSL certificate
The free tier does not include an SSL certificate; SSL requires an Enhanced or higher paid plan.
- Basic DNS records only
Only basic DNS records are supported on free; advanced records require a paid plan.
- No custom domains
Hostnames must use one of 30 No-IP owned domains; using your own domain requires Pro Dynamic DNS or Plus Managed DNS.
- 1 update client
Free accounts are limited to a single Dynamic Update Client.
- Ads on redirects
URL and port 80 redirects on the free tier display No-IP ads; removing ads requires a paid plan.
