Gotchas
- 4 domains/hostnames
Free accounts are limited to 4 free domain names, 4 of your own domains, and 4 subdomains; upgrading to Member ($9.99/yr) raises each cap to 200 and Corporate ($99.99/yr) to 1000.
- 4 custom DNS records
Free tier allows only 4 custom DNS records (A, AAAA, CAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.) and 4 web redirects; members get 200, Corporate 1000.
- No API access
The Dynu API (and webhook integration) is members-only; free accounts must update IP via the web UI, update clients, or router protocols.
- No DNSSEC
DNSSEC signing is not available on the free tier; it requires a paid Member or Corporate plan.
- No HTTPS web redirect
Free web redirects are HTTP only; HTTPS web redirect (SSL) requires a paid membership.
- No logging or IP update history
Logging, IP update history, and backup & restore of zone settings are all members-only features unavailable on the free tier.
- No advanced DNS features
Zone import/transfer, vanity nameservers, GeoDNS, bulk upload, sub-accounts, and zone share are gated to paid plans.
- Normal (non-priority) support
Free accounts receive normal support; priority support is reserved for Member plans and dedicated support for Corporate.
