- 25 GB storage cap
Free-tier accounts (no payment method) are limited to 25 GB of stored data per project. Exceeding it requires upgrading to a paid Pro account.
- 25 GB egress per month
Egress (download) bandwidth is capped at 25 GB per month on the free tier and resets monthly.
- ~$1.65/mo free coupon ceiling
The free-tier coupon covers only up to roughly $1.65 of total monthly usage (any combination of storage, egress, and segments); usage beyond the 25/25 GB limits is blocked without a payment method.
- Lower request rate limit
Free-tier projects have a reduced metadata request rate limit; the 100 requests/second rate limit is a Pro (paid) account default.
- Pro features need card or STORJ deposit
Raising limits to Pro (3 projects, 100 buckets/project, 25 TB storage, 100 TB egress, secure custom domains for linksharing) requires adding a credit card or depositing $10+ in STORJ tokens.
- Project and bucket caps
Default project-level limits constrain the number of projects, buckets, and segments; increases require a paid account or a support request.
- Trial framing on signup
The pricing page presents the entry point as a 30-day free trial (with 2 Object Mount licenses); the persistent 25/25 GB free allowance applies to accounts that do not add a payment method.
