Gotchas
- 20 GB storage cap
Total of 20 GB combined across Standard, Infrequent Access, and Archive tiers (split as 10 GB each on paid or trial-credit accounts). Exceeding it on an Always Free-only account causes all objects to be deleted when a trial ends over the limit.
- 50,000 API requests/month
Only 50,000 Object Storage API requests per month combined across all read and write operations; additional requests require a paid account.
- Requests reset monthly
The 50,000-request allowance and 10 TB outbound transfer allowance reset each month.
- Card required at signup
A valid credit or debit card is required during signup for identity verification only; virtual and prepaid cards are not accepted. Always Free usage is never charged.
- Home region only
Always Free Object Storage exists only in the tenancy's home region; buckets created in other regions incur standard charges.
- One account per person
Only one Oracle Cloud Free Tier or Always Free account is permitted per person; creating multiple accounts is prohibited and accounts undergo manual verification that can be rejected.
