Gotchas

• Hobby plan: personal use only

  The free Hobby plan is explicitly for personal, noncom use; commercial projects must upgrade to Pro at $20/month.

• No custom domain branding

  You are locked to a *.vercel.app subdomain; a custom domain requires adding it separately (buying or transferring a domain is a paid add-on at registrar cost).

• 1 developer seat

  The Hobby plan supports only a single developer seat; team collaboration requires the Pro plan.

• 1M edge requests/month

  Free tier includes 1 million edge requests per month; additional usage cannot be purchased on Hobby.

• 100 GB data transfer/month

  Fast Data Transfer is capped at 100 GB per month on Hobby with no overage option.

• Build minutes not included on Hobby

  Standard, enhanced, turbo, and elastic build machine minutes are only available on Pro/Enterprise; Hobby uses shared build infrastructure with queue priority lower than paid plans.

• Build queue deprioritized

  Hobby builds are queued behind Pro/Enterprise builds, leading to slower build times during peak periods.

• Runtime logs only 1 hour retention

  Log retention is limited to 1 hour on Hobby vs. 1 day on Pro; session traces similarly limited to 1 hour.

• No custom environments

  Hobby has no custom environments (only default production/preview/development); Pro adds 1 custom environment and Enterprise adds 12.

• Web Analytics capped at 50K events/month

  Speed Insights and Web Analytics are included but capped at 10K and 50K events per month respectively on Hobby.

• No role-based access control

  RBAC, audit logs, SSO, and advanced deployment protection are Pro/Enterprise-only features.

• vercel.app subdomain branding

  All free deployments are served under the vercel.app domain, visibly attributing hosting to Vercel; removing this requires a paid custom domain.
